Description
Your R50 donation (or multiple of) will buy around 3kg of soup mix, because we buy in large bulk from our wholesale suppliers. Once cooked this can make over 25kg of soup! That’s around 50 meals!
Physical food donations are directly distributed by Earthshine to three communities in the deep south of Cape Town, in partnership with the following NGO’s.
- Masiphumelele – 6 Soup kitchens on the ground run by Masiphumelele Creative Hub. Also support for Green Guerrillas Community farming project based in Masiphumelele High School.
- Ocean View – 32 home based soup kitchens run with help from Ocean View CAN (Community Action Network), assisted by Feed Our Valley.
- Redhill – Redhill Development Forum with Feed Our Valley is currently setting up a soup kitchen network here.
We may use a small portion of donations, up to a maximum of R5 per R50 donated to help cover payment gateway fees, banking fees, ordering, transport or other costs associated with converting your monetary donation into food and getting it to the communities in need.
Earthshine has been and will continue to donate sacks of food on a regular basis to these communities as part of our overall social improvement program. Any donations from public through this site will always be over and above these donations we as a company are making already.
